Aloo Methi Biryani

This is a very delicious and hearty vegetarian rice dish and has a lot of health benefits from the Fenugreek leaves. One of my favorite vegetarian biryani dish. You can buy dried Fenugreek leaves from most northen indian grocery stores.




Ingredients
- For Aloo Methi Biryani
- 2 Potatoes (Cubed)
- 1 Onions (Chopped)
- 1 clove Garlic (Chopped)
- 1 cup dried Methi Leaves (Fenugreek Leaves)
- 1 cup Green Chillies (cut in 1cm)
- Spices: 4 Cloves, 1 tsp Mustard Seeds, 1 tsp Fennel Seeds, 1 tsp Cumin seeds
- Spice Powder: 1 tsp Turmeric Powder, 1 tsp Chilly Powder, 2 tsp Coriander Powder, 1 tsp Garam Masala.
- Vegetable Oil
- Salt and Pepper
- 1 cup Basmathi rice

Preparation
- Start boiling the rice
- Heat oil in pot, fry the dry spices.
- Then add Onion and Garlic, fry until soft.
- Add the spice powders. Fry.
- Add the Potatoes, and then add 1 cup of water.
- Cook for 3 minutes. Then add Methi leaves.
- Cook for 5 minutes. Season with Salt and Pepper.
- Drain the rice and add on top of the Potatoes.
- Cook for 10 minutes and leave covered for 10 minutes.
- Serve
