Ingredients
For Tadka Dhal
- 1 cup Dhal (Yellow Lentils)
- 1 tsp Mustard Seeds
- 1 tsp Fennel Seeds
- 1 tsp Cumin Seeds
- 1 tsp Turmeric Powder
- 1 pinch Chilly Powder
- 1 pinch Coriander Powder
- 1 tsp Ginger&Garlic paste/powder
- 1 sprig Curry Leave
- 1-2 Dried Red Chilly
- 1 pinch Asafoetida (Hinq)
- ½ Onion (chopped)
- Salt & Pepper
- 2-3 Tbs Ghee / Oil

Preparation
- Wash the Lentils and boil until soft in Water.
- Once Lentils are done, prepare the Tadka
- Heat Oil/Ghee. Fry the Mustard, Fennel, Cumin seeds.
- Add the Asafoetida, then the Curry Leaves and Dried Red Chilly.
- Then add the Onions, fry for 1 minute.
- Add the balance spice powder. Fry until fragrant.
- Add the Tadka back to the Lentils, bring back to the boil, season with Salt and Pepper.
- Serve hot with flat bread or rice.
