Yam Rice

YAM RICE
A local Malaysian Chinese Favorite





Ingredients
For Yam Rice
- 1 cup Yam Bean (cubed)
- ¼ cup Dried Shrimp (soaked and chopped)
- ¼ cup Dried Mushroom (soaked and chopped)
- ½ Chinese Sausage (chopped)
- 2-3 Tbs Dark Soy Sauce
- Salt, Pepper, Water
- Vegetable Oil
- 1.5 cups of White Rice

For garnishing
- Green Spring Onions (chopped)
- Coriander Leaves (chopped)
- Fried Shallots
- Chilly Sauce (optional)

Preparation
- Heat pan and add 2-3 Tbs Vegetable Oil and fry the chopped Dried Shrimp until fragrant.
- Then add the chopped Yam Bean and fry for a 2-3 minutes.
- Then add Chinese Sausage and chopped Mushrooms and fry for 2-3 minutes.
- Wash and rinse White Rice and put into rice cooker with double amount of Water.
- Add the fried condiments to rice. Add 2-3 Tbs of Dark Soy Sauce, Salt and Pepper.
- Cooked rice until cooked.
- Top rice with Green Spring Onions, Coriander Leaves, Fried Shallots and serve with Chilly Sauce.
- Serve and Enjoy!
