Japanese Okonomiyaki Pancake
Ingredients
For Okonomiyaki
- 1 medium Onion (chopped)
- 1 cup Cabbage (chopped)
- 1 slice Ginger (chopped)
- 1cm Carrot (chopped)
- 1 egg
- 1 cup Wheat Flour
- Salt, Pepper, Water
- 1 packet Instant Fried Noodles (optional)
For garnishing
- Japanese Mayonnaise
- Okonomiyaki Sauce
- Shaved Bonito Flakes
- Spring Onion & Coriander Leaves (optional)
Preparation
- First cook the Instant Fried Noodles, set aside
- Chop up all vegetables finely. Add Egg, Salt, Pepper, Flour and Water to form a thick batter.
- Heat non-stick wok and add 2 Tbs vegetable oil.
- Add Okonomiyaki mixture and fry 1 side for 2-3 minutes until brown.
- Turn over and fry the other side.
- Top the hot Okonomiyaki with Spring Onion and Coriander Leaves (optional)
- Then top with the ready Fried Noodles.
- Drizzle on top the Okonomiyaki Sauce, drizzle the Mayonnaise and sprinkle over the Bonito shavings
- Serve and Enjoy!
