Gobi Manchurian
Ingredients
For frying Cauliflower
- 2 Cups of Cauliflower florets
- 1 cup all purpose Wheat Flour
- 1/3 cup Cornstarch
- 1 tsp Salt
- 1 tsp Pepper
- Water
For Seasoning / Sauce
- 1 Onion (chopped)
- 1-2 cm Ginger (chopped)
- 2-3 Garlic (chopped)
- 1 Green & 1 Red Chilly (chopped)
- 1 tsp Red Chilly Powder
- 1 tsp Black Pepper Powder
- 1 Bay Leaf
- 1 Tbs Soy Sauce & 1 Tbs Dark Soy Sauce
- 1 Tbs Vinegar & 1 Tbs Tomato Ketchup
- 1 tsp Sugar, pinch of Salt
- Cornstarch to thicken
Preparation
- Lightly blanch the Cauliflower
- Mix the batter ingredients into a thick batter, and coat the Cauliflower.
- Fry in Vegetable Oil until crispy. Set aside
- Heat up 2 Tsb Vegetable in Wok.
- Fry the Ginger, Garlic and Onions until translucent.
- Add in the Chilly, Chilly Powder, Black Pepper Powder, Bay Leaf and fry for a while.
- Add ½ cup water. Then add Soy Sauce, Dark Soy Sauce, Vinegar, Ketchup, Sugar and Salt.
- Prepare Cornstarch water, 2 tsp Cornstarch to ¼ cup Water.
- Bring to a boil, add Cornstarch mixture, thicken, bring to a boil.
- Add back Cauliflower, coat and serve immediately.
- Enjoy!
