Chinese Ginger Chicken
Ingredients
Chinese Ginger Chicken
- ½ Chicken (cut into small pieces)
- 3 cloves Garlic (sliced)
- 3 cm Ginger (thinly sliced)
- 2-3 dried Red Chillies (de-seeded)
- 1 Star Anise
- 2 Cloves
- ½ cup Mushroom / Woodears
- 4-5 Tbs Dark Soy Sauce
- 4-5 Tbs Chinese Cooking Wine
- 2 Tbs Oyster Sauce
- Water
- Salt, Sugar, Pepper to taste
- 3 Tbs Vegetable Oil
- Cornstarch (for thickening)
Preparation
- Heat up 3 Tbs Vegetable oil in Wok/Pot.
- Add Ginger and Garlic and fry until fragrant.
- Then add Chicken and fry for few minutes.
- Add Oyster Sauce, Dark Soy Sauce, 1 cup Water, Star Anise, Cloves, Red Chillies, and bring to a boil. Let it cook for 5-10 minutes.
- Add Woodear Mushroom and cook for 5 minutes.
- Season with Salt, Pepper, Sugar and add in Chinese Cooking Wine. Continue cooking for 5-10 minutes until Chicken is cooked and tender.
- Add 1 tsp Cornstarch to 5 Tbs Water, stir, and add into Chicken to thicken the gravy. Cook for 2-3 minutes.
- Serve and Enjoy!
